History of Deliverance Church International Riruta
Founded in the Year 1982
Deliverance Church International Riruta, originally known as RSDC, was founded on August 1, 1982. The idea to start this branch was conceived by several brethren residing in the Riruta Satellite area who faced challenges transporting their young families to Eastleigh Deliverance Church every Sunday by public means. Key founders included Bro. Mark Ng’ang’a, Bro Isaiah Kimani, Bro Eutycus Thandi Njeru, Bro Josphat Kamau Kiniaru, Bro Ezekiel Nyoro, Bro Joseph Mathenge, and Bro Patrick Muturi Mwangi.
On June 20, 1982, and June 24, 1982, landmark meetings were held with the Deliverance Church Overseer, Rev. William Tuimising, who granted permission to establish the new branch. The first worship service for the new branch was held on August 1, 1982
Early Beginnings and Growth
The early years of DC Riruta were marked by humble beginnings. Services were initially held at the residence of Bro. Mark Ng’ang’a, but as the congregation grew, it became clear that a more permanent location was needed. The church members demonstrated remarkable dedication and faith, pooling resources and labor to acquire and develop a suitable site for worship.
